Our Beginner Ukulele class is the perfect introduction to music for young people who want to learn an instrument in a fun, relaxed and supportive environment.
Students start from the very beginning, learning how to hold the ukulele, basic chords, simple strumming patterns and how to play their first songs. No previous musical experience is needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to have a go!
The class is designed to build confidence, teamwork and musical understanding while making learning music enjoyable and accessible for everyone. Along the way, students develop coordination, listening skills and a sense of achievement as they progress.
Students also have opportunities to perform and share their progress at our showcase events, helping to build confidence and celebrate their achievements.
Please note - Our class age ranges are intended as a guide, and students are welcome to remain in a class where they feel happy, confident and supported. There is no obligation to move to the advanced class when you turn 10.
However, minimum age requirements for classes do still apply.
We ask for a £5 donation per session towards the cost of our classes. These contributions help us continue providing high-quality creative opportunities for children and young people within our community. However, no child will ever be unable to attend because of cost.
